Height training with firefighters

Following a request for training from Commander George Scarbotte and the Belgian fire brigades of the cities of Namur, Brussels and Philippeville, the Windvision team organised a day training in one of the wind turbines of the Gesves-Ohey wind park. The goal was to offer a practice ground for the firefighters specialised in rescuing people at height.  On Tuesday October 27th 2020, two teams of firefighters worked together to rescue fake victims trapped at about 80m height in the wind turbine tower. All exercises were successful despite the many obstacles and the narrowness of the wind turbine tower. WindVision's operational team was called upon to accompany these exercises and give the necessary instructions to the firefighters. The exchanges on techniques and methods between the Windvision’s operation team and the professional rescuers at height were numerous and very enriching. Mr. Gomes, Head of Windvision's Operations Department, and Commander Scarbotte agreed to repeat the experience in the future. A real life training in the wind turbine guarantees the firefighters an excellent knowledge of the terrain.
