Since December 2021, in the commune of Dilsen-Stokkem, three wind turbines installed by Windvision are producing green electricity. The three Vestas V100 have a nominal power of 2,2 MW and generate about 15,5 GWh on a yearly basis which is enough to provide around 4.500 households with green energy.

Citizen participation

Local financial participation in the project was encouraged by “Bronsgroen”, a cooperative supporting the use of renewable energies.

Mitigation measure

6,5 Hectares of land are being cultivated to mitigate the impact of the three wind turbines on birds.

This surface provides them with food and nesting opportunities. The area focuses on yellowhammer, turtle dove, woodcock, woodlark and skylark but it will also benefit other species such as partridge, ring sparrow, greenfinch, linnet and finch.
